Clerical/Office Energy Services Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Energy Services Specialist, provides assistance to prevent utility disconnections and stabilize utility costs for low-income households. If, you have a compassion about people this job might be for you! Daytime hours Monday thru Friday. Fulltime 40 hours a week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The essential duties of this position include but are not limited to the following performance
measures:
1. Interpret federal, state and local regulations. Implement policies and operating practices related
to specific program assignments;
2. Interview applicants, gather information, determine eligibility and appropriateness of available
services;
3. Develop a comprehensive service plan for eligible households, commit financial and other
resources to ensure service delivery;
4. Monitor the delivery of services to eligible clients;
5. Evaluate client status and update files as appropriate;
6. Establish and maintain a working relationship with service providers;
7. Provide program awareness through community outreach;
8. Maintain records and data essential to the operation of the program in accordance with
acceptable standards;
9. Participate in short and long range strategic planning;
10. Handle complaints and resolve grievances with client and service providers;

Responsibilities:
Ensure visitors are promptly recognized at door and by telephone. Maintain calendars for client appointments, staff meetings and leave requests.  Perform client intake services.
Review and understand utility billings in various formats to determine usage, payments needed. Advocate on behalf of client with utility companies to waive deposit and/or fees, negotiate payment arrangements and other services. Provide utility companies accurate information to document client payments. Refer eligible household to weatherization services. Ensure all electronic faxes are printed and provided to appropriate staff. Responsible for large volume of client files, accurate documentation and physical filing. Responsible for accurate data entry of client demographics, services, and payments.
Maintain client confidentiality and observe protocols to protect client personal information; i.e. driver’s license, social security numbers, residential/mailing address, bank account information, etc.
