Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role in Sherman, TX for a Design Engineer or Structural Drafter. This person will be responsible for creating drawings using AutoCAD (2D) for engineering design, fabrication parts and installation. This person will also be responsible for producing project cost estimates, creating parts list for fabrication as well as communicating with customers, installers and consulting engineers.

Qualifications

• AutoCAD (2D) experience required, minimum of at least 2 years using it in a workplace.
• Open on experience depending on software and industry knowledge
• Strong technical skills required with experience in structural drafting software and computer-aided design (CAD) program as well as Microsoft Suite.
• Experience in developing architectural and structural drawings and creating shop drawings.
• Ability to create building information modeling (BIM) models for steel structures.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards for steel canopy design and construction.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Associate degree or relevant certification in drafting, architecture, or structural engineering.
• Experience with steel canopy manufacturing, construction, or design is preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Must pass AutoCAD drawing test given by head engineer***

Compensation
Salary starts at $40k minimum and goes up with AutoCAD knowledge and/or experience.
