Walkway Absorber Fabricator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: On-Site, Durant, OK

Pay Rate: $17hr

Shift / Hours:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • Voluntary Over-Time

Job Description: 

  • Assembles Walkways Absorbers using hand tools, measuring equipment or band saws to cut pieces for assembly.
  • Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specification, using measuring tape, or square table and comparing them to technical blueprint/drawings.
  • Ensure that the daily production schedule is adhered to and all daily objectives are met.
  • Able to train employees on proper company policies and procedures to ensure procedures and compliance requirements are being met.
  • Calibrate cutting saw before the production begins or as required.
  • Monitor and control the saw performance and settings.
  • Maintaining QA and inventory records for the Walkway Absorber Department.
  • Work in a team environment, be quality conscious and strive for continuous quality improvement with emphasis with Lean and 5s principles.
  • Perform or oversee product testing to ensure that materials meet the loading and quality standards as outlined in the “Work Instruction” documents.
  • Maintain environmental, health and safety standards as outlined by our EHS department
  • Coordinate daily preventative maintenance tasks, and perform timely quality checks. Work with maintenance staff to optimize performance and ensure reliability.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing or production environment.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • A self starter willing to undergo training to understand the operations of the Walkway Department.
  • Have 1-2 years’ experience as a manufacturing or production lead or supervisor.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office systems.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to read and understand basic documents (work instructions, procedures).
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to do work as assigned by supervisor.

Equipment / Machinery / Vehicle Use:

  • Personal computer, printer, and appropriate software applications (e.g., MS Office).
  • Wears PPE as necessary.

Physical Demands:
Lots of crawling, standing, twisting body, climbing, kneeling, squatting, and occasional walking.
